Represent, Advocate & Assist

Goal:

To be at the forefront of representing and advocating  issues for and on behalf of people in need and assisting  the needy

Objectives:

Represent and advocate issues related to peace, development and human rights  for and on behalf of those in need.

Promote dialogue, cooperation and debate  on policies and practices around peace, development and human rights.
Facilitate, provide  and manage assistance for those affected by conflict and natural disasters.

Children Programme

LAAHIRU - Voice of Children (VOC)

This web site provides information about the children’s programs carried out by the Consortium of Humanitarian Agencies while creating a space for children to express themselves and for all interested stakeholders to discuss and address issues on child rights/protection in Sri Lanka.

Peace

Strengthening the local capacities for Peace building

The Peace building team at CHA continued to operate with all intensity and commitment in promoting the mission beginning with the Introduction of the Peace building Toolkit, A Guidebook on Transitional Issues for Reconciliation , in all 25 Districts

G ROUND V IEW is a bi-monthly publication in Sinhala, Tamil and English that reflects the socio economic issues that have a direct impact on the quality of life and the aspirations of all communities who live outside the Western Province and those marginalized sections of the populace within the Western Province
 

Mainstreaming Conflict Sensitivity

CHA provides support services to Humanitarian & Development Agencies to integrate Conflict Sensitivity approaches in to all aspects of Organizational & Project Management.

CPN

The Community Protection Network (CPN) consists of key institutions and individuals from district level Community based organizations working towards the promotion and protection of human rights, providing opportunities for advocacy initiatives and peace building

District Newsletter

CHA is being compiling the Newsletters with the members of the Community Protection Network (CPN) in the districts in collaboration with CHA district offices and Head office staff.

In today’s society, the lack of capacity and resources have been identified as the root cause for delays in problem solving and denial of rights.

 

Environment


Environment Programme

The Ruk Rakaganno (the Tree Society of Sri Lanka) under the partnership agreement with CHA, launched an awareness campaigns on “coastal re vegetation” for 2500 students from 32 schools.
 

Human rights

Protection of Human Rights and Mitigating Impunity

The project is aim at documenting human rights violation in order to lobby , advocate against human rights violations, and provide assistance to victims of human rights violations and their families through networking
