Goal:
To be an effective coordinating, facilitating, and networking
agency for the humanitarian sector.
Objectives:
| Achieve greater
levels of efficiency and effectiveness in the humanitarian
sector, hence, maximising the use of resources in the sector; |
| Assist in mediation
and negotiation among different parties operating in the humanitarian
sector to ensure smooth operation of humanitarian interventions;
and |
| Fulfill
the role of a catalyst and leader to identify existing gaps
and needs, new priorities, and opportunities on behalf of,
and with, the humanitarian sector. |
Tasks and Actvities:
Membership
Services
Under the guidance of the Executive Director, the Senior
Coordinator-Membership Services and Mnager Programme Area
1 carries out membership services.

Operational Meeting
- Weekly
The
objective of these meetings is to comprehensively access
information on all relief efforts currently underway, to
enhance planning and coordination of future activities,
which will in turn ensure that affected persons are provided
with necessary care immediately within a framework of long-term
assistance and rehabilitation.

Finance
Meeting – Monthly
The meeting
brings together Finance, Administration, and Human Resource
personnel of international and national NGOs to share information
relating to Government Policy regulations, law, and best
practices. This in turn ensures better utilisation funds,
assets, and personnel for humanitarian and development activities. |
Livelihood
Forum
The Livelihood
Forum provides space for coordination and a common platform
to actors in the Government, non-governmental, and private
sectors to act together to improve people's livelihood activities.

Psychosocial
Forum (PSF)
Psychosocial
policies and standard are designed to influence and strengthen
Capacity Building in the Psychosocial sector.

District Coordination Meetings The aim is to initiate and support district level participation and effective coordination by providing a platform for local, national and international agencies to work together at the district level |
| Sustainable livelihood Development projects
The project was concerned about the saturation of some local markets by an overabundance of similar businesses; lack of access to appropriate markets; poor product design/quality; the creation of and/or strengthening of a dependency culture; a high focus on some sectors with a relative neglect of others; and the lack of sector-specific linkages and strategic planning between districts and national level.
