Microfinance Programme –
Promotion of Microfinance Sector in the resettlement

Implementation

  • Data collection by using the PPI tool developed by ProMis and training of CHA staff working on this program
  • Meetings at Village level and the informal group formation
  • Community mobilization for preparing the groundwork for the programme
  • Establishment of self help groups based on results of appraisals
  • Monthly meetings with the community protection network to facilitate and highlight needs of the village inhabitants and seek redress. Building a community nucleus capacity to benefit the economically inactive poor utilizing members of the Community Protection Network (CPN) and youth volunteers
  • Training and awareness creation for targeted recipients
    • Economic development schemes, SIYB workshops 
    • Development sensitivity  and Do No Harm trainings
    • Entrepreneurship assistance and development through business related trainings
  • Follow up, Monitoring of progress and collection activities
    • Working with the Gami Pubuduwa field officers to monitor progress of activities and ensure participation of group members
    • Track progress of recipients of grants ( not funded under this initiative) and training and enhancement of their families through improved income generation
