HAP Standard
The HAP Standard in Humanitarian Accountability and Quality Management (2007) represents a broad consensus on what matters most in humanitarian action, and reflects the collective experience of humanitarian workers and disaster-affected communities of what are the essential practices that determine the quality of humanitarian work.
The HAP Standard offers a simple, relevant and affordable good practice framework that may be applied by all humanitarian agencies in emergency preparedness and response. Development and human rights agencies have also applied the Standard in the past three years. Relevant to senior managers and field staff alike, this is a practical tool that helps agencies measure, validate and improve the quality and accountability of their programmes.
