In Batticaloa the distribution took place at the Chenkalady DS Division Ciththandi – 3 among 500 families who were at camps but at the point we did the distribution they have returned home. The hygiene pack items would assist the affected communities to keep good hygiene practice and avoid fungal and skin infections or rashers. Mostly the mosquito net was much appreciated by families with small children.

In Amparai the distribution took place at the following locations
Palamunai – 100 packs
Nintavur    - 90 Packs
Akkarapaththu – 88 Packs
Alayanvadivembu – 90 Packs
Tirukkovil  - 132 packs
Even when the distribution was taking place there was heavy rain in the area and our staff had grates difficulty in accessing areas such as Alayanvadivembu, Akkarapaththu etc.

CHA will continue its flood response  with Mercy Malaysia to provide delivery kits for pregnant mothers in the districts of Batticaloa and Ampara- presently underway. We take this opportunity to thank Mercy Malaysia for their support
